Academics
ICCS seeks to provide excellence in all academics and learning activities. Educators form the heart of a Christian school as they are responsible for knowing where and how a student’s needs are to be met. Students learn in different ways and the teachers provide many varied instructional approaches while considering the developmental needs of each student. The curriculum teachers use is Abeka which is approved by the West Virginia Board of Education. It is a biblical curriculum that has been utilized in educational settings since 1972. With Abeka, students are engaged in a high academic program along with a biblical worldview where each subject has a Christian perspective along with scripture and biblical principles. Core Concepts are taught in areas of Bible, Reading, Writing, Math, Language, Spelling, Science, and History. Enrichment Activities include music, art, physical education, computer, and library.
